Located in the shadows of Mt. Kilimanjaro and bordering Tsavo West National Park, Gicheha Farm is a long standing agricultural stronghold that dates back to the 1930’s when it was owned by Colonel Ewart Grogan, a British settler who served in the Royal Regiment. Still privately owned, the farm continues to be a backbone of the country’s economy. The ranch is the largest producer of seed maize under intensive systems of production, and is home to fine bred Dorper sheep and Galla goats, holding one of the largest flocks in continental Africa. A guided tour to the ranch offers a great experience of the countries farming activities.
