Mfangano Island Day Trip.

06.30 hrs or 08.30 hrs flight over the Maasai Mara, fascinating farm land and African homesteads to Lake Victoria – the world’s second largest fresh water lake discovered by early African explorers as the source of the mighty River Nile.

A 40 minute flight lands at Mfangano, a lush unspoilt Island home to friendly fishermen living in hamlets along the lakeshore, colonies to birdlife, litters of spotter otters and giant monitor Lizards lurking in the shallows.

Arrive at the Camp for tea, coffee and drinks before either, relaxing at the Camp, talking a walk along the lake shore, swimming in the natural pool or take a custom built boat and explore the islands, with Ancient Rock Art, village visits and community involvement.

You can also try your hand at fishing for Nile Perch or cast for Tilapia – enjoy the catch of the day for lunch before returning to the Mara in time for an evening game drive.
